About the Business
My name is Lee Watton. I qualified as a baker in 1991 and I worked in a number of local bakeries over a 10 year period before I opened Relax Coffee Shop and Cakes.
I have been baking wedding cakes for the last 20 years and have certainly seen a change in the style and design of wedding cakes and the techniques used over the years. I can see some of those traditional styles, that I was doing 20 years ago coming back into vogue - I did not think that I was going to see royal icing lacework, coming back into fashion again!
I opened Relax Coffee Shop and Cakes in Newtownards in 2001. We make homemade fresh food which tastes great. We serve from breakfast through to lunch and have something for everyone, whether you are looking for a freshly baked scone or piece of cake and cup of coffee, tasty breakfast to get you started in the morning or would like a sandwich/ wrap/flat bread or a healthy salad bowl from the deli bar.
